Working Principle

The working principle of the instrument is similar to the measuring human arterial blood pressure. The high-sensitivity pulse transducer can sense the vascular pulsation of different strengths caused by changes in arterial blood flow. After transduction and amplification, the vascular pulsation curve can be traced through a variety of recording and display systems. The pressure in the cuff is artificially changed by means of inflation to compress (block blood flow) and release (restore blood flow) the artery. When the pressure in the tail cuff is at the point where the arterial blood flow is completely blocked until the heart ejection can make the arterial blood flow through, the pulse wave disappears and the first wave appears again. Indicated pressures represent vasoconstrictive pressures. Then the pressure in the cuff gradually decreases, and the pulse wave gradually increases. When the pressure in the tail cuff is just in the diastole of the heart and does not obstruct the arterial blood flow, the pulse wave curve no longer increases and a second-order peak is generated. The corresponding pressure represents the vasodilatory pressure. The timing of the onset of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and the pulse curve obtained by the high-sensitivity pulse transducer provides a clear sign. From the complete disappearance of the pulse wave to the appearance of the first pulse wave, the pressure in the pipeline corresponding to this wave is the systolic pressure. The pressure in the cuff continues to decrease gradually, the pulse wave gradually increases and produces a baseline displacement, and a second-order peak appears.
